A chat with Azania Salons founders

We will be profiing young business owners to inspire the youth and empower their dreams that they can start businesses. Covid regulations brought a lot of depression to young dreamers but it’s encouraging to see that there were individuals who used the time spent at their homes to come up with ideas and new ventures.

Launching our series of business profiles we kicked it off by having a conversation with founders of AZANIA SALONS.

When was the salon founded?

The Salon belongs under Azania Group which was founded in 2019 and Azania Salons official opened its doors in the year 2021 December. So we are 2 months old.

  • Who are the founders?

The founders of Azania Group are Mr Robert Ndlela and myself  Mr Lindokuhle Madlala.

  • Why did you decide to open a salon?

Going to a beauty salon can provide many benefits that one simply cannot receive at home. Such a visit can do miracles for people looks and their self-confidence. Surely it is a dream of every person to look beautiful and gorgeous on each and every occasion she/he attends. However just like a garden, beauty needs maintenance and care, that can be best provided by a professional. So Azania Salons was born, to fulfill a community need of maintenance.

  • Tell us about the importance of haircare according to Azania Salons;

Haircare is important for not only our appearance, but also for our overall hygeine. Having healthy hair and scalp is healthy. It is important to visit a reputable salon like Azania and utilize our quality hair care products to ensure your hair is as healthy as possible.

  • How is the response since the launch?

Considering that we launched a new brand in December. I would gladly say that people have been very supportive and very happy about our customer service and our beautiful Salon.

  • What makes Azania Salons Special or stand out from the rest?

At Azania Salons we have mastered a simple thing and understood that the only way to stand out from the rest is to put customer experience over everything. Yes, that means putting customer experience above the art of styling, and mostly putting customer experience above Ego.

  • If you had not decided to open a salon, which business would you rather have opened?

Under Azania Group besides Azania Salons, we have other enterprise that we run, such as Azania Builders, Azania Properties etc… Hope this answers your question.

  • How many employees do you have?

We currently have 15 permanent employees and as we become fully operational we are looking at 21 permanent jobs.

  • Any interesting plans you have or projects that you will be working on this year?

At Azania Group, a lot will be happening this year. Firstly we will be launching 3 more branches of Azania Salons, and in April 2022 our first Azania Cafe shop will be opening it doors.
