The BAT Centre brings you another spectacular band of young, powerful Durban- based artists- Beetsho & band , which will be playing live at this week’s Sunday Jazz Sundowners. 


The sextet led by Bethune Tshoane – a deep-rooted up rising jazz guitarist from Limpopo, is made of astonishing musicians such as Zoe the Seed – Vocalist, Sanele Phakathi – Pianist, Dalisu Ndlazi – Bassist, Leon Scharnick – Saxophonist, Tebogo Stanely – Drummer and the band leader, Bethuel – who is guitarist. 

The band leader’s guitar ability has since been a robust from tender age. He obtained his expertise at Music for Africa Trinity College of Landon in Limpopo. He went on to pursue his musical studies at University of KwaZulu-Natal from 2012 to 2016. Bethuel’s musical influence is drawn from various music genres, such as: Bebop, African Jazz, African indigenous music, Weston Classical music and African township style. His guitar skill has been shaped by the sounds of George Benson, Jimmy Dludlu, Pat Matheny and the great Wes Montgomery.

Through various influences, he has established his own sound within the African Jazz. He has worked with great musicians such as: Prof Salim Washington, Nduduzo Makhathini,Neil Gonsalves, Thulile Mbili, Precious Khomo, Philani Ngidi, Thobeka Langa, Ildo Nanja, Sibusiso Mashilwane, Sbu Zondi, Zoe The Seed, King Sfiso, Dalisu Ndlazi, Bucco Xaba, Leon Scharnick, Ndu Gabs, UKZN Philharmonic Orchestra, Simphiwe Dana, Sazi Dlamini, DJ King Sfiso, Mbuzo Khoza and UKZN Asambe Band which has been invited to perform at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond (USA). By the year 2016, He has also performed at Maun International Arts Festal held in Botswana sponsored by Concert SA. 

As usual, DJ Ndosie will be on the decks, doing what he does best!
