Sinenhlanhla Mncube known as (Lilly) Born in 1995 March 22 in KwaZulu Natal (Greytown at Umsinga in a small town called Keats Drift). She started singing at the age of 9 at Church but took it seriously in 2013 where she worked with the likes of DJ Flair on Shiya track which did very well across radio stations. Also worked with Babuyile Shabalala, a former member of Ladysmith Black Mambazo who helped me come up with my stage name ‘Lilly’
I later met Mapopo who took me to many studios around Durban; Afrotainment, WestInk and Hit Records. He exposed me to the Music Industry to learn the business side of it. This experience had a huge impact on who I am today as an artist. I know what is expected of me, I know what I want and that is why I felt like writing about my journey on my latest feature song Amazolo which I did with Thukzin, Babes Wodumo‘s producer) and it is currently on high rotation doing well and I even got the chance to perform at MTV base (GQOMNATION) and it has been great.
I did not expect so much love and such a response to the song. I am not in the music business just for fame or money but I am also doing it firstly because I love music and I am able to express and motivate others through music. In future I want to be remembered for touching lives through my music. I never grew up with everything but through music I felt like I had it all because the soul was satisfied. I want to give my fellow brothers and sisters the same feeling of satisfaction.
