Previously known as Complete the group now go by the name iCOMPLETE (pronounced e Complete).  This new name is the isiZulu way of saying their name and one that uniquely identifies and celebrates their African heritage.

iCOMPLETE is a vocal group made up of four talented musicians, Happy Motha, Bonginkosi Motha, Mluleki Chuma and Bubele Mgele all hailing from the township of Vosloorus south east of Johannesburg in South Africa. Formed in 2001, the group’s music ranges from classical, gospel and afro pop to isicathamiya. These four soulful voices have performed at some of the most prestigious venues and festivals such as the Celtic Festival in Scotland, and have shared stages with respected and world renowned stars such as Jamie Cullum, the Aarhus Jazz Orchestra, Hugh Masekela, Themba Mkhize, Sibongile Khumalo, The Baobab Sisters, Yasek Manzano and Selaelo Selota among others.  Their sound has been described as “feel good and inspiring music” and speaks of real life experiences that many listeners can relate to. The group consciously seeks to give hope and spread love to their ever growing fan base both locally and internationally. In 2014 the group has won an international Bassies award for Outstanding Music Composition in New York.

The group have over the years performed all over the world in venues such as the Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, the Royal Theatre Centre in Amsterdam, and also toured Germany, Belgium, England and France among other European countries. They have also worked on a number of theatre productions including “Songs of Migration” and “The Manhattan Brothers Tribute” both well received by critics and audiences alike.

In the last two years they signed to Makotopong Sound Studios a record label renowned for great technical production standards and allowing their artists creative freedom. They have spent the time touring and recording their first professional album.  The material they recorded was enough for a double album but organically and logically evolved into two albums with two distinctly separate flavours.

‘Isiqalo – The Beginning” (released under the name Complete in July 2017 to coincide with their recent tour of Europe) is already available online. This ten track acapella album, fully represents the group’s dynamics and is a perfect teaser for their next offering. Their second album titled ‘NAWE’ (to be released shortly under the new name iCOMPLETE) shows off the group’s harmonic voices backed by some very talented and accomplished instrumentalists and producers.  These two albums, ‘Isiqalo – The Beginning’ – (the starter) – and ‘Nawe’– (the main course) – are an absolute treat for their fast growing fan base and will no doubt attract even more fans to (the dessert) – the group’s live performances!

The first performance from their new albums in South Africa will be on the 16th September at the Joburg Theatre where they will once again be sharing the stage with Danish artists “Baobab Sisters” as part of the Arts Alive program.
