Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Ms Candith Mashego-Dlamini will visit the area of uMshwathi Local Municipality in KZN to commemorate the Youth Month Imbizo. The purpose of this Imbizo is to engage directly with the youth and respond on issues concerning to departmental programmes especially on the Agrarian Transformation and Enterprise Development.
DM Ms Mashego-Dlamini will be accompanied by both the honourable Mayor of uMgungundlovu District Municipality, Cllr T. Maphumulo and Cllr S. Zondi-Mbhele Mayor of uMshwathi Local Municipality, where they will also do a site visit at Dukathole Youth for Economic, Social and Rural Development Cooperative to official handover implements worth more than 2 Million that were acquired by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform. The delegation will then proceed and visit other Co-operatives in the area.
The Imbizo is also part of the programme for Youth Month will entail a month long of activities aimed at highlighting the work of the government in providing opportunities for the youth, educating young people about their history and heritage, communicating opportunities brought by the democratic government, while having conversations with the youth on their role towards social cohesion and nation-building.
