Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and Chairperson of the National Planning Commission, Jeff Radebe will lead the We are One Fun Walk in Bridge City, Kwa- Mashu in KwaZulu-Natal.
The We are One festival is a platform for the youth within Kwa-Mashu and Phoenix townships to partnership with goverment in promoting social cohesion.
The Fun Walk will also be used to promoted the National Development Plan (NDP) , in particular, its long term goal of promoting social cohesion across society through increased interaction across race and class through sporting activites. The NDP further articulates that, “sport teaches discipline, it is an integral component of a healthy lifestyle and enables South Africans to share common space”.
The festival is now in its second year, promoting oneness through sport and music, giving hope to the future generations, fostering social cohesion and equality whilst nurturing and building a generation for a prosperous peaceful, tolerant and equal society.
